Why we say Icelandics are the "Porsche of Horses"

Gloria Verrecchio, D.V.M. and Vince Verrecchio have been riding for more than 25 years in countries worldwide on breeds hot and cold.  After riding Thoroughbreds across the English moors, Lusitanos through the cork groves of Portugal, Russian Orlavs in the mountains and redwood forests of Northern California, Quarter Horses in the wilderness of British Columbia, and other breeds in other places, Gloria and Vince would like to tell you why Icelandics have become their breed of choice.  Comparing all other riding experiences to cross-country rides on Icelandics in Vermont, Norway and four times in Iceland, the conclusion is that Icelandics are the Porsche of Horses.

Based on years of lessons (hunt seat, dressage, and general equitation), the belief at Penridge Farm is that Icelandic Horses are the durable and talented smooth-gaited choice for trails, sport and show.

As a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, Gloria has a professional interest and pays special attention to bloodlines, heredity and how genetics affect temperament and ridability.  Breeding at Penridge involves only evaluated stallions and mares that exhibit exceptional riding and temperament characteristics.

Our farm is located on the outskirts of Marine on St. Croix, Minnesota, a small town eleven miles north of Stillwater, a historic town on the St. Croix River.
